Artists Activist Lauren Halsey Picked Up by International Art Giant Gagosian

Lauren Halsey, a Los Angeles-based artist, has joined the renowned Gagosian Gallery to be represented worldwide. Halsey will have her first show with Gagosian in Paris next year and an exhibition at London's Serpentine Galleries in 2024.

The 36-year-old artist transforms urban artifacts into imaginative installations that reflect her upbringing in South Central LA. Her work recently adorned the Metropolitan Museum's rooftop. During COVID, she created a food bank in her neighborhood.

Halsey expresses excitement about partnering with Gagosian, which has 19 global locations, to expand her reach to new audiences and regions. She will continue showing with David Kordansky Gallery in LA.

Gagosian plans to exhibit Halsey's art in places she hasn't visited before, like Asia. Her work often incorporates objects gathered from her community, demonstrating a passion for collecting materials from her surroundings.

Halsey joins Gagosian's renowned roster of artists at a high point in her career following acclaimed shows. The partnership reflects her rising prominence in the art world and extends her work to an international commercial scale.
