Britney Spears Opens Up About Divorce: "I Couldn't Take the Pain Anymore

Pop sensation Britney Spears has broken her silence following her husband Sam Asghari's divorce filing just one year into their marriage, candidly expressing that she "couldn't take the pain anymore."

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the "Toxic" hitmaker, aged 41, acknowledged that their divorce is a private matter. She admitted to feeling "a little shocked" at the turn of events while sharing a video of herself dancing.

Spears affirmed that she's "been playing it strong for way too long" and that her Instagram showcases a life that is "far from reality." She expressed her desire to reveal her emotions but lamented that she's always had to conceal her vulnerabilities. Spears alluded to her past struggles and the need for unconditional love from family, stating, "You're supposed to be loved unconditionally… not under conditions!!!"

The post concluded on a positive note, with Spears vowing to stay strong and encouraging others to smile.

Asghari, the actor, had broken his silence a day earlier, emphasizing that despite the divorce, they will cherish the love and respect they have for each other.

While the tone may seem civil, Asghari's divorce filing includes requests for spousal support, legal fees, and court costs, along with specific items, including two beloved dogs. However, due to their prenuptial agreement, Spears' substantial fortune remains protected.

Spears and Asghari's relationship began in 2016 on the set of her music video "Slumber Party," but they kept their romance private due to Spears' conservatorship. Asghari proposed in September 2021, shortly before the termination of Spears' conservatorship. The couple wed in a private ceremony at her Thousand Oaks, Calif., mansion, albeit with a touch of drama, as Spears' ex-husband made an unexpected appearance. Spears has two sons from a previous marriage to Kevin Federline.
