Burna Boy Releases New Music Video for 'Higher'

Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy released a music video for his single "Higher" on June 28, 2024. The song is an anthem about resilience and hope that is dedicated to his hometown of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The music video was directed by Burna Boy and Asurf. It documents Burna Boy's return to Port Harcourt and highlights his involvement in community support and outreach. The video also showcases the spirit of community that Burna Boy sings about in "Higher," his first release of 2024.

This is the first time Burna Boy has appeared in a video highlighting his humanitarian initiative, "Project Protect." Through "Project Protect", Burna Boy partners with the charity organization, The R.E.A.C.H., to help provide essential services to underserved communities in Nigeria. The global superstar recently made history in the US after setting a record for the highest-grossing concert by an African artist. Burna Boy also set the record for the highest-grossing tour by an African artist in Canada. He was also included in TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2024.

"Higher" was released a day before Burna Boy's headlining concert at London Stadium. This concert will make Burna Boy the first African artist to headline two stadium concerts in the UK. Since he broke onto the international music scene in 2018, Burna Boy has become one of Africa's biggest artists. He has won multiple awards and has fans all over the world.
