Denim Tears Sold 30,000 Cotton Wreath Sweatsuits in 15 Minutes

Trendsetting streetwear brand Denim Tears continues gaining momentum, with founder and designer Tremaine Emory recently profiled in GQ magazine. Emory discussed how his signature cotton wreath logo sweatsuits sold out an astonishing 30,000 units in just 15 minutes.

The wreath design, seen on major celebrities and inspired by provocative visual artist Kara Walker, serves as a conversation starter on racial issues. Emory wants the symbol spread widely in pop culture to spur discussion of the Black experience and state of the world.

Denim Tears' rise comes after Emory's contentious departure as Supreme's creative director in August over alleged racism and office politics. He since elaborated that the brand stifled his attempt at pieces addressing racial violence and injustice in America.

But four years since launching his own company, the fashion influencer's Denim Tears continues rapidly gaining traction. The instant sellout of his branded sweatsuits shows Emory's cultural impact and influence only growing.
