Drena De Niro, the adopted daughter of actor Robert De Niro, is mourning the death of her 19-year-old son, Leandro Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was found dead in his apartment in Manhattan on Sunday. The cause of death has not been released.
De Niro took to Instagram to share her grief, writing, "My heart is broken forever." She also posted a photo of Rodriguez laughing, saying, "I can barely type through my tears."
Rodriguez was an actor like his mother and grandfather. He appeared in the 2018 film "A Star Is Born" with De Niro.
De Niro's friends and family have expressed their condolences on social media. Robert De Niro said he was "deeply distressed" by his grandson's death.
"We are all devastated by the loss of Leandro," said De Niro's manager, Addison Rae. "He was a bright light in our lives and we will miss him dearly."
A memorial service for Rodriguez will be held at a later date.
In the meantime, De Niro and her family are asking for privacy as they grieve.
