K-Drama Sensation 'Moving' Shatters Records on Disney+ and Hulu in Just Seven Days

Prepare to be amazed by the phenomenal ascent of the Korean spy series 'Moving,' which has achieved the unthinkable by becoming the most-watched K-drama ever on Disney+ and Hulu. In a mere seven days following its debut on August 9, this series has taken the streaming platforms by storm, securing its place as Disney's reigning champion in terms of hours streamed. This triumph isn't limited to just the U.S.; it resonates powerfully across the expansive Asia Pacific region, including prominent territories like Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Carol Choi, Disney's Executive VP of Original Content Strategy in APAC, expressed her delight, stating, "The global consumer response towards the first 11 episodes of Moving has exceeded our expectations. From the U.S. to all across APAC, it is fast becoming a breakout hit with its captivating storyline, world-class cast, and incredible post-production effects — all coming together to deliver exceptional storytelling."

'Moving' is an adaptation of a popular webtoon created by the influential Korean artist Kang Full, renowned for several of his works that have made their way to the big screen. The series boasts an ensemble cast featuring some of the biggest names in Korean film and television, including Ryu Seungryong ('Miracle in Cell No. 7'), Han Hyojoo ('20th Century Girl'), and Zo Insung ('Smugglers') in his eagerly awaited return to the drama series format.

The gripping narrative of 'Moving' unfolds around a group of South Korean spies determined to shield their super-powered children from the clutches of malicious government agencies, poised to exploit their extraordinary abilities. These super-parents were initially recruited due to their exceptional powers, including flight, instant healing, and heightened senses. However, they vanished without a trace after being handed increasingly dubious missions. With their own children now displaying similar powers and a deadly assassin relentlessly targeting super-powered individuals, the parents must leave behind their tranquil lives to resurrect the "monsters" they once were.

Viewers can catch the first 11 episodes of 'Moving' on Disney+ and Hulu, with the promise of two new episodes arriving every Wednesday. The three-part season finale is scheduled for September 20.

Disney+ made its debut in South Korea in November 2021 and has since been steadily increasing its locally produced content to tap into the surging global enthusiasm for K-drama. Some of Disney's most well-received Korean titles include the Blue Dragon Series Award-winning 'Big Bet,' starring Korean screen legend Choi Minsik ('Oldboy') as a daring casino operator, along with 'The Zone: Survival Mission,' 'Soundtrack #1,' 'Snowdrop,' and a variety of other compelling offerings.
