Netflix Removes Basic Ad-Free Plan, Introduces New Ad-Supported Plan

Netflix has announced that it will be removing its basic ad-free plan in the US and UK. The plan was $9.99 per month and offered a single stream of 720p content. Netflix has replaced this plan with a new ad-supported plan called "Basic with Ads". This plan costs $6.99 per month and offers two streams of 1080p content. However, it also includes ads before and during content.

Netflix has been facing increasing competition from other streaming services, such as Disney+ and HBO Max. These services offer ad-supported plans, which has led to Netflix losing subscribers. In an effort to stem the tide of subscribers leaving, Netflix has decided to introduce its own ad-supported plan.

The decision to remove the basic ad-free plan has been met with mixed reactions from subscribers. Some subscribers are happy to have a cheaper option, while others are disappointed that they will now have to watch ads. Netflix has said that it will continue to offer an ad-free plan for its premium subscribers.

The removal of the basic ad-free plan is a sign that Netflix is willing to make changes in order to remain competitive. It remains to be seen how the new ad-supported plan will be received by subscribers.

In addition to the new ad-supported plan, Netflix has also announced a number of other changes. The company has raised the prices of its other plans, and it has also announced that it will be cracking down on password sharing. Netflix is facing a number of challenges, but it is clear that the company is not going to give up without a fight.
