Princess Anne Hospitalized After Incident at Gatcombe Park Estate

Princess Anne, the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and the younger sister of King Charles III, was hospitalized on Sunday after an incident at her Gatcombe Park estate. The 73-year-old princess suffered a concussion and minor injuries. Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming the incident and assuring the public that Princess Anne is expected to make a full recovery. She is currently under observation at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Though the Palace did not disclose the nature of the incident, multiple British news outlets have reported that Princess Anne’s injuries may have resulted from a fall from a horse. An accomplished equestrian, Princess Anne competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. King Charles III and the Royal Family have sent their well wishes for her recovery. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also extended well wishes via social media, stating, “Everyone in the country is immensely fond of Her Royal Highness.”

This incident follows a series of health concerns within the Royal Family. Earlier this year, it was announced that King Charles III was undergoing treatment for an unspecified type of cancer. Additionally, Catherine, Princess of Wales, recently returned to public life after undergoing treatment for cancer.
