SZA Calls Out "Offensive" Rumors of Facial Surgery

SZA has addressed ongoing rumors that she has had facial plastic surgery, calling the claims "offensive."

In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, the singer denied getting any work done on her face. Along with alleged facial surgery, fans have speculated that SZA's freckles are fake, her teeth are veneers, and more.

"That shit is low-key offensive. Not low-key, it's high-key offensive," SZA said. "But what am I supposed to do? Post a debunking thread? That's crazy."

She continued, "There's clear instances when I talked about my freckles. I heard I had a facelift, I heard I had a nose job, I heard my teeth were fake. Now do I need to go out and get a nose job because you all made me feel like I need one?"

SZA has been open about getting a Brazilian butt lift in the past. However, she emphasized that she has never had any cosmetic surgery on her face. She finds it frustrating that fans believe unfounded rumors over her own statements.

The singer also discussed feeling insecure about her vocals on her recent collaboration with Drake, "Slime You Out." Despite sending Drake alternate takes, he chose to use her initial demo recording, making SZA worry he was trying to sabotage her.

SZA's candor provides insight into the harsh beauty standards and self-doubt female artists face. By denying the surgery claims, she challenges unrealistic expectations while asserting control over her own narrative.
