Woman Accused of Selling Drugs to Robert De Niro's Grandson Arrested

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the suspected drug overdose death of Robert De Niro's 19-year-old grandson, Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez.

The woman, Sofia Haley Marks, is believed to have sold drugs to Leandro before his death on July 2. She was arrested on Thursday evening on federal drug distribution charges and is expected to appear in a Manhattan federal court on Friday.

Leandro's mother, Drena De Niro, has said that her son died of a fentanyl overdose. She has not yet commented on Marks' arrest.

This is a tragic story, and our hearts go out to the De Niro family. We hope that justice is served in this case.

Here are some additional details from the news reports:

  • Leandro was found dead in his apartment in Lower Manhattan.

  • Both drugs and drug paraphernalia were found near his body.

  • Marks is known as the "Percocet Princess" and is believed to have been selling drugs in the area.

  • She is facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
